Coldplay at The Palladium
The Neighbourhood concert at the Palladium Theater on Monday was a stand-only event that I lucked out to get an entry into. The theater became quite warm with the 4,000 or so people there, even though the crowd size is extreme at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where I saw them twice, and they were excellent. I first saw them at where the LA Galaxy plays soccer and they were amazing. The opening acts were rappers who had overcome issues from being incarcerated in prison, not my taste in sound but I admire them both for turning their live around. There was a political activist that spoke with her position on the homeless situation and how it equates to mental health. They did a couple of new songs with a large brass group that rocked. I enjoyed the acoustic sounds of the older songs better than the newer pieces. The Neighbourhood was to "start" at 9:00... they started at 9:30. The final song was at 10:40 or so... although we applauded and yelled for more, no encore. It was nice seeing the guys... taking it easy, acoustically great BUT, this was clearly my least favorite The Neighbourhood concert.
